See Enabling Advanced Features to access Live Mode.
Live Mode allows you to view raw biomechanical metrics immediately after each throw. This mode should only be used in a controlled environment where the sensor and device can be kept in close proximity and the pace of the athlete's throwing can be controlled. If you do not need mechanical metrics after every throw or cannot interact directly with the athlete while they are throwing, you should not collect data in Live Mode.
First, connect to your sensor (See: Adding a sensor to your account), tap the Advanced Features tab, then tap Live Mode. Each time you throw, motusTHROW will detect the throw, begin loading, and transfer the data from the sensor immediately for processing. After a few seconds, the table of data will populate with the metrics from the last throw. Be sure to wait until the processing has completed and the numbers have populated before attempting another throw. The sensor is not capable of detecting throws while it is transferring data to the app.
You will see a table of metrics that your sensor can provide for each throw. motusTHROW will provide Arm Stress (Torque), Arm Slot, Arm Speed, and Shoulder Rotation information. You can also provide user-input ball velocity from an external radar gun if you would like.
You can modify which metrics are displayed, the order that the metrics display on the screen, as well as the size of each metric displayed. Tap on the Rearrange icon on the top-right of the table. Select the metrics you wish to display in the order in which you want to display them, then tap Next. Tap the + and - icons to adjust the size of each metric. If the total size of the metrics is larger than your screen size, you can scroll up and down to view them all. Tap Done when complete.
Live Mode provides color-coded arrows in the top-right corner of each metric cell that are based on the normative ranges in our database based on the athlete's height, weight, and competition level. To read more about what each metric means, how it is calculated, and what the ranges are, simply tap on any metric.
Swiping right and left on the table allows you to scroll back through all events from today. Tap on the TAG button to change the tag for each throw. If enabled, tap on the User-Input Ball Velocity cell to input a ball velocity for each throw. Tapping on the Chart icon in the top-left of the table will take you to Today's Data mode which will allow you to view the data in a graphical format.
